Dear Mom, Here is What I need You to Know This Mother’s Day

I always came first, and I’ve realized not every mom does that. Not every person gets a mom who does everything¬†she can to make her children happy, safe, healthy, and who reminds them every day they are loved. When I was younger I just thought my mom was really strict and “mean”, but I never thought about how lucky I was.

Now I realize you were only being the best mom you could be, who tons of kids would dream of having. I was blessed with the mother tons of other children would have died to have, who at times I took for granted, and for that mom, I’m sorry.

You are one of the most important, inspirational, strong, and intelligent people in my life and I just love you so much. I know there were times I made you feel like the crappiest person in the world and I can’t apologize enough for doing that to you.

But maybe, just maybe, I can prove to you that you are the best mother in the world and that I am one of the luckiest people on this earth because of you.

Thank you for always having time for me. Thank you for working your butt off to provide for me. Thank you for never giving up on me. Thank you for giving me the best opportunity to be successful in this world and thank you for being the best mom I could have ever had.

There is so much that I owe to you, but the one thing I need you to know is that I love you. I love you so much and you are always on my mind. When I am in need you are always there and when I am happy you are the first person I want to tell.
